It should not be forgotten that Librandi was the forerunner of \u003cb\u003eCalabrese wines\u003c\/b\u003e throughout the world. The brothers, gifted with foresight, interpreted the potential of the Crotone area with excellent results. The wine is born in the land that was once part of Magna Graecia. Gaglioppo in particular is thought to have been the wine given to the winners of the Olympic Games. The Gravello wine has the \u003cb\u003eVal di Neto Rosso IGT\u003c\/b\u003e designation. The grape varietal percentages are: \u003cb\u003eGaglioppo 60%\u003c\/b\u003e and \u003cb\u003eCabernet Sauvignon 40%\u003c\/b\u003e. The soils are \u003cb\u003eclayey-calcareous\u003c\/b\u003e in nature, and the microclimate is mitigated by sea breezes blowing from the Ionian Sea. The vineyards are located both in the \u003cb\u003eAgro di Stongoli\u003c\/b\u003e on the Librandi estate and in the \u003cb\u003eAgro Rocca di Neto\u003c\/b\u003e on the Rosaneti estate. The \u003cb\u003emanual harvest\u003c\/b\u003e of the grapes in crates begins during the first ten days of October. The grapes are then crushed and destemmed and left to \u003cb\u003eferment\u003c\/b\u003e in steel at a controlled temperature. After malolactic fermentation, the wine rests in wooden barrels. \u003cb\u003eAging\u003c\/b\u003e in wood lasts approximately 12 months in \u003cb\u003eAllier barriques\u003c\/b\u003e. Once considered ready, it is bottled for further refinement in glass.
