Description
What type of wine it is
Franciacorta Satèn by Barone Pizzini is an excellent organic and vegan traditional method sparkling wine, a refined expression of the famous Lombardy DOCG. Produced exclusively from Chardonnay grapes, this wine stands out for its unmistakable Satèn style, characterised by lower internal pressure that yields a silky and velvety texture. The flavour profile is fresh, creamy and well-structured, accompanied by a fine and persistent perlage that blends perfectly with elegant notes of apricot, hazelnut and citrus. A harmonious sparkling wine, capable of gracefully introducing the story of its territory, its winemaking process and its ideal food pairings.
Where it comes from
This Franciacorta DOCG originates from the renowned Clogna, Carabioli and Ronchi vineyards, located in Lombardy at an altitude of between 220 and 260 metres. The vines, cultivated using the Guyot system and over twenty years old, are rooted in morainic soils. This particular soil composition, enriched by fluvioglacial sediments and a significant gravelly component, ensures excellent permeability and gives the wine a distinct and constant minerality. The viticultural approach of Barone Pizzini, an organic pioneer since 1870, deeply enhances the identity of this unique terroir, guaranteeing a clean and authentic flavour profile.
How it is produced
The production process of this Franciacorta begins with a gentle pressing of the Chardonnay bunches, followed by temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel tanks. The first maturation phase lasts for about 10 months, divided between steel and barrels, in order to enrich the structure without overpowering the varietal character. Subsequently, the wine undergoes a second fermentation in the bottle according to the Traditional Method, with ageing on the lees ranging from 30 to 40 months. This meticulous care creates the typical Brut dosage and a creamy mousse, enhancing the fine perlage and the characteristic mineral and citrus notes.
