Description
Style of wine
Belnero is an enveloping red wine by Banfi, the result of a structured blend of Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot. This Tuscan red offers the palate a powerful and velvety structure, supported by balanced acidity and enriched by sweet and elegant tannins. Its balance culminates in a long and persistent finish, with clear fruity and spicy nuances, making it ideal for pairing with soups and meats, game, and aged cheeses.
Origin
The grapes are grown on the hills of Montalcino, in Tuscany, at an altitude between 170 and 230 metres. The wine's complex identity stems from the composition of diversified soils, ranging from sandy-clay sediments with pebbles, which ensure optimal drainage, to clayey sections of a calcareous nature capable of retaining moisture. This pedological richness promotes homogeneous ripening for a deep red wine, cultivated using training systems such as the Banfi alberello.
Production
After the harvest, temperature-controlled fermentation takes place in combined steel and French oak vats. The process continues with ageing for approximately twelve to fourteen months in barriques and oak casks, concluding with an appropriate rest in the bottle. This process gives life to an intense olfactory bouquet, dominated by notes of plum and blackberry jam, which harmoniously intertwine with spicy hints of vanilla, coffee, and tobacco.
