Description
What type of wine it is
Pietranera by Marco De Bartoli is a dry white wine that expresses the authentic essence of Zibibbo from Pantelleria, produced within the Terre Siciliane designation. Fermentation occurs spontaneously using indigenous yeasts, defining an aromatic and mineral profile. On the palate, the pronounced sapidity blends with an ideal balance between freshness and structure, offering a crisp and vibrant sip. This dry white wine proves perfect for accompanying shellfish, raw seafood, oysters and spicy dishes.
Where it comes from
The vineyards are located in the Cufurà and Ghirlanda districts, on steep volcanic terraces. Cultivation adopts the traditional alberello pantesco (Pantelleria bush-vine) system, a practice that requires exclusively manual intervention and represents an example of heroic viticulture. The mineral-rich soils give the wine a marked sapid depth. Planting density and low yields allow for rigorous selection, ensuring excellent aromatic concentration in the bunches and enhancing the expressive strength of the territory.
How it is produced
The manual harvesting of the grapes takes place during the first ten days of September. After de-stemming and gentle pressing, the must undergoes a cold maceration for twenty-four hours. Soft pressing and low-temperature decantation follow, with only the clear part sent for fermentation in stainless steel. The six-month ageing is split between stainless steel tanks and small barrels, a technical solution designed to enrich the wine's complexity while preserving its natural vivacity.
History and interesting facts

Marco De Bartoli has signs of these every day fights, but he has won against all odds, with the tenacious, stubborn conviction of being right, and in order to demonstrate it, he speaks a lot, as it is common in Sicily, not to speak about himself, but to allow me to drink: here it is his greatest evidence.
Today he has a family of which he is proud of: Renato and Sebastiano, sons, are quite adults, while Josephine, the younger daughter, inherited the name of his great-grandmother, of French origins. Read more
