Description
What type of wine it is
Corte Giara - Allegrini Valpolicella is a fresh and easy-drinking still red wine, an authentic expression of the Veronese territory. Produced from a blend of Corvina Veronese and Rondinella, it presents a vibrant ruby colour. This Valpolicella DOC (controlled designation of origin) stands out for its typical olfactory profile, characterised by clear notes of morello cherry, violet and raspberry, enriched by nuances of medicinal herbs. On the palate, it offers a dry taste, with a naturally exuberant acidic vein that integrates perfectly with the fruit. The soft and present tannins accompany an agile and harmonious structure, providing a pleasant and balanced sip. Vinification exclusively in stainless steel preserves the maximum freshness and original fragrance of the fruit.
Where it comes from
The grapes for this Valpolicella come from the hilly area north-east of Verona, specifically in the municipality of Fumane, in the heart of Valpolicella. The vineyards, located in the sub-zone of the eastern Valpolicella hills, benefit from a south-east exposure. The mild and breezy climate, positively influenced by the proximity of Lake Garda, creates ideal conditions for viticulture. The soils, characterised by a composition of clay and limestone, give the wine its typical freshness and aromatic complexity. The vines are trained using traditional espalier and pergola systems, ensuring optimal ripening of the clusters in this choice terroir.
How it is produced
Production begins with a manual harvest conducted in the first half of September, followed by meticulous destemming and soft pressing of the grapes. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature (26–30°C) for approximately 8–10 days, a phase accompanied by regular pumping over to favour the extraction of colour and aromas. In December, the wine undergoes malolactic fermentation. Ageing continues exclusively in stainless steel for approximately three months, a technical choice aimed at keeping the freshness and fruity expression of the blend intact. Finally, the wine completes its journey with a period of resting in the bottle before being introduced to the market.
