Description
About the wine
Franciacorta Rosé Artio Brut from Le Marchesine is a rosé wine produced in the famous Lombard Franciacorta appellation, born from a blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Strictly made according to the rules of the Metodo Classico, it stands out for its generous style and enveloping structure, enhanced by a continuous perlage. The aromatic profile is dominated by lively notes of cherry, plum, and forest fruits such as blueberry, which blend into elegant spicy and citrus nuances. On the palate, it is balanced, offering a pleasant sapidity and a persistent finish with light hints of liquorice, ideal for accompanying roasts, duck, and beef carpaccio.
Provenance
This wine originates from the vineyards of Passirano, located in the beating heart of Lombardy. In this premier region for viticulture, the vines are grown using the spurred cordon system, positioned about one metre from the ground. The vineyards maintain a high planting density, between four thousand five hundred and five thousand plants per hectare, a technical factor that favours a perfect concentration of the grapes' primary aromas. Careful management in the vineyard ensures a balanced yield of approximately ten thousand kilograms per hectare, laying solid foundations for a harvest of excellent quality.
How it is produced
Production begins with a rigorous manual harvest in small crates, followed by soft whole-cluster pressing. The Pinot Noir must undergoes a brief six-hour maceration to extract colour and aromas, before being blended with the Chardonnay. The first fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled steel tanks, specifically avoiding malolactic fermentation to preserve the natural freshness of the wine. This is followed by the second fermentation in the bottle according to the Metodo Classico, accompanied by ageing on the lees for thirty-six months, essential for giving the product its characteristic structural complexity.
