Description
What type of wine it is
Bric Amel from Marchesi di Barolo is a Piedmontese white wine, an authentic expression of the Langhe region. It is born from a refined blend of Arneis, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay, fermented in stainless steel tanks and aged on the lees. To the eye, it presents a pale straw yellow colour with greenish highlights, while the aromatic bouquet is broad, with notes of peach and apricot that intertwine with nuances of almond, acacia and hawthorn. On the palate, it is full and fragrant, supported by a pleasant freshness and a delicate mineral touch that leads towards a harmonious finish.
Where it comes from
This wine originates in Piedmont, in the heart of the Barolo area, among the Langhe hills. The name recalls the dialect term “bric”, which identifies the summit of the hills where the most suitable vineyards are located. The vines are cultivated using the Guyot system on limestone soils, enriched with quartz sands and very fine clays. This soil composition encourages a marked aromatic intensity, while the peculiarities of the terroir give the sip a clear savoury note and a well-defined structure.
How it is produced
The production process begins with the harvesting of healthy and ripe grapes, immediately subjected to destemming and soft pressing. The grape varieties are blended immediately to best integrate their organoleptic profiles. Low-temperature fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks, a choice that allows the fragrance and clarity of the aromas to be preserved intact. This is followed by prolonged ageing on the lees, which is essential for enriching the wine's structure, harmonising the freshness and achieving an impeccable taste balance.
History and interesting facts
