Description

What type of wine it is

The Timorasso Fausto by Vigne Marina Coppi is a Piedmontese white wine made from Timorasso grapes from the Colli Tortonesi denomination, aged in steel. On the nose, it interweaves hints of white flowers with a vibrant mineral texture, enriched by pleasant citrus touches. On the palate, a significant structure emerges, supported by a distinct sapidity and a persistent finish with clear notes of pink grapefruit. Awarded the 5 Grappoli Bibenda, it pairs perfectly with white truffle risottos, shellfish, and soft cheeses.

Where it comes from

This wine originates in Castellania, Piedmont, among the hills of the Colli Tortonesi. The vineyards, cultivated using organic farming, grow on a soil of calcareous marls, an essential geological matrix for infusing the glass with a clear sapid character. The favourable hilly climate ensures excellent quality of the Timorasso clusters. The name is a tribute to grandfather Fausto, a symbol of the winery's deep family bond with the territory and the desire to enhance its most authentic identity.

How it is produced

The production process begins with a manual harvest in the morning, followed by soft pressing of the grapes and cold settling. Fermentation takes place slowly at a controlled temperature; malolactic fermentation is avoided to preserve natural acidic tension. Maturation involves ageing on the noble lees in steel tanks for approximately ten months, with careful bâtonnage. A further rest in the bottle completes the production cycle, harmonising the components to deliver a white with a marked propensity for ageing.

History and interesting facts

Produced in Castellania by the Vigne Marina Coppi winery as a tribute to grandfather Fausto, this Timorasso expresses the pure essence of the Colli Tortonesi. The result of a careful manual harvest, this artisanal label enhances the natural freshness of the grape variety through a slow fermentation, without undergoing malolactic fermentation. Patient ageing for twenty months between steel and bottle shapes a structure with remarkable longevity. Awarded 5 Grappoli by Bibenda, this Piedmontese white offers the palate a deep and vibrant mineral harmony.
