Description
What type of wine it is
Allegrini Valpolicella Classico Superiore is a Venetian red wine produced by the Allegrini estate, a faithful expression of the Valpolicella Classico Superiore Controlled Designation of Origin. The result of a targeted blend of Corvina and Rondinella grapes, it presents a fresh, dry, and sleek profile. On the palate, it is medium-bodied, supported by well-integrated soft tannins and characterised by a clear fruity finish. Its balanced style and careful production, which includes fermentation in steel and a period in wood, enhance its remarkable versatility in food pairings.
Where it comes from
The grapes for this wine come from vineyards cultivated on the Grola Hill, in the heart of Valpolicella Classica, in Veneto. The vines benefit from south-eastern exposure and grow on mixed soils with a significant clay and limestone component, decisive elements for imparting freshness and structure. The local climate is marked by significant temperature variations between day and night, an essential geographical factor that promotes the full development of aromas and quality concentration in the bunches.
How it is produced
Production begins with a rigorous manual harvest usually carried out around mid-September. Fermentation takes place inside temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks for approximately nine days, allowing for a calculated extraction of colour and aromas. Subsequently, the wine matures for six months in large oak barrels, a period useful for softening the tannic texture while keeping the fruit's identity intact. The cycle concludes with two months of refinement in concrete vats, necessary to definitively stabilise the organoleptic characteristics.
History and curiosities

Belonging to the family of the same name since the 16th century, the Allegrini winery is located in the Valpolicella Classica area: in particular, it is situated where vines such as corvina, molinara and rondinella give life to what are considered some of the best red wines of the Peninsula. xtraWine offers numerous bottles of Allegrini Allegrini wines that stand out for their refinement and elegance, very pleasant and capable of enveloping you with every sip, conquering even the most demanding palates. This is due to continuous improvements in production such as the introduction of the use of barriques alongside the traditional large barrels, and even a reduction in the ageing period so as not to alter too much the quality of the grapes used.
Not only Valpolicella, on xtraWine you can find Allegrini wines such as Amarone, Valpolicella and Recioto. Read more
