Description
What kind of wine it is
Linticlarus Pinot Nero Riserva by Tiefenbrunner is a red wine of great elegance produced in South Tyrol. This 100% Pinot Nero falls under the famous Alto Adige designation and is distinguished by an aromatic profile focused on clear notes of forest fruits and cherry. On the palate, it is structured and rounded, offering a harmonious taste that closes with a persistent finish. Its complexity stems from a careful vinification process involving the use of concrete tanks and oak barrels, highlighting the qualities linked to its terroir.
Where it comes from
The grapes come from the picturesque hillside vineyards located in the Montagna and Corona areas, characterised by a privileged south and south-west exposure. The sites are located at an altitude of between 450 and 800 metres above sea level, a condition that fosters an ideal climate for the correct ripening of the bunches. Geologically, the Montagna area is defined by clay-sandy soils resting on Dolomite rock, while in Corona, calcareous-clay soils of morainic origin prevail, elements that give the wine its distinct aromatic precision.
How it is produced
Production begins with a manual harvest and a careful selection of the bunches, which are largely destemmed while maintaining a fraction of whole bunches. After a one-week cold maceration, alcoholic fermentation takes place in concrete tanks for approximately two weeks. Malolactic fermentation and the subsequent twelve-month ageing occur in small oak barrels, some of which are new. Finally, the wine rests for a further six months in large barrels before completing its journey with a long period of bottle ageing.
