Description
What type of wine it is
Les Sabots de Coppi Saint Joseph from Cave de l'Iserand is a still red wine, elegant and expressive, a pure expression of the Syrah grape variety. Belonging to the Saint Joseph appellation, this wine reflects the producer's mastery in showcasing Rhone grapes. Its style is distinguished by a fresh and mineral profile, supported by smooth tannins. On the nose, it offers hints of red fruits enriched by delicate herbaceous notes, providing a balanced and authentic taste.
Where it comes from
The grapes come from the Sécheras vineyards, located in the "des Oziers" terroir in northern Ardèche. Here, at an altitude of 350 metres, the steep terraced slopes characterise true heroic viticulture. The soils, composed mainly of gneiss, give the wine its distinct minerality. The climate and altitude create ideal conditions for vine cultivation with full respect for nature, deeply influencing the freshness and elegance of every sip.
How it is produced
Production follows artisanal and organic methods, with whole-cluster vinification without the use of oenological additives. The fermentation process aims to preserve the integrity of the fruit. Ageing takes place for twelve months in terracotta amphorae, a technical choice that helps maintain the wine's structure and freshness, allowing for natural micro-oxygenation. Finally, the wine is bottled with zero filtration and undergoes no fining.
