Description
Type of wine
Marchesi Migliorati's Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo Denominazione di Origine Controllata is an organic and vegan rosé wine produced exclusively from Montepulciano grapes, with vinification and ageing in stainless steel tanks. This territorial expression combines impeccable aromatic purity with a lean and persistent structure, standing out for its clear aromas. On the palate, it reveals itself to be vibrant, offering an easy-drinking quality that culminates in a long and refreshing finish, making it ideal to accompany meat dishes and mature cheeses.
Origin
The grapes are grown in hillside vineyards located in Abruzzo at an altitude of approximately three hundred metres, with a favourable south-east exposure. Marchesi Migliorati's project focuses on the recovery of old vines, enhancing a territory historically suited to the cultivation of Montepulciano. The clay matrix of the soils and the cool climate favour the development of taut aromatic profiles, ensuring an agile and dynamic sip with excellent gustatory continuity in the glass.
How it is produced
After the harvest from spur-pruned cordon-trained vines, vinification takes place in stainless steel tanks. Fermentation takes place without temperature control through maceration on the skins for approximately fifteen days, a fundamental phase for extracting colour and complexity. Subsequently, the wine completes its journey with ageing in steel for at least six months, a technical choice that preserves a fresh, varietal and well-defined flavour profile.
History and curiosities
Born from the restoration of abandoned vineyards, Marchesi Migliorati's Cerasuolo d’Abruzzo DOC 2025 celebrates the rebirth of the local area. This organic and vegan rosé is made from Montepulciano grapes grown at an altitude of 300 metres on clay soils.
