Description
Type of wine
Passerina Villa Angela by Velenosi is a still white wine with the Marche Typical Geographical Indication (IGT), obtained from the fermentation and ageing in steel of the Passerina grape variety. On the nose, it offers a fragrant bouquet, characterised by floral notes of lime blossom and hawthorn that intertwine with hints of grapefruit, citron and green apple. On the palate, it reveals a light and harmonious structure, supported by a lively savoury freshness that accompanies the sip towards a saline finish with great gustatory cleanliness.
Where it comes from
This wine is born on the hills of the Tronto Valley, in the territory of Ascoli Piceno, about twenty kilometres from the Adriatic Sea. The vineyards are situated at an altitude of between 150 and 300 metres, where they benefit from the cooling action of sea breezes. The vines sink their roots into limestone soils of medium texture tending towards sandy, conditions that create an ideal pedoclimatic environment for the development of distinct aromatic precision.
How it is produced
Production begins with manual harvesting, followed by soft pressing and a rapid temperature reduction of the must to encourage natural settling. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature. The process concludes with careful cold ageing, prolonged throughout the winter period in order to preserve the aromatic integrity and the natural fragrance of the fruit.
History and interesting facts
Produced in Ascoli Piceno by the Velenosi winery, founded in 1984, Passerina Villa Angela is a refined Marche IGT with ancient roots. Its picturesque name recalls the shape of the grape cluster, which resembles that of a small sparrow. Available on the market since 2007, this white wine expresses the essence of the hills in the Tronto Valley overlooking the Adriatic. Careful ageing in steel at low temperatures preserves its vibrant aromatic freshness, resulting in an award-winning wine that enchants with its luminous vivacity and elegance.

The heart of the company is located in the historic city of Ascoli Piceno, which is located in the region Marche at a distance of about 20 km from Adriatic Sea and at a height of 150/200 m above sea level.
The company's farms extend across the hills that surround the splendid valley of the Tronto river, which, thanks to its clayey and fertile soils, has always been suited to the cultivation of vines.
In addition to the four companies located in Ascoli Piceno, Castorano, Monsampolo del Tronto and Castel di Lama, there is a vineyard in the area of Ancarano (TE) and in the area of San Marcello (AN), between the Castelli di Jesi.
Since the beginning, the winery has achieved great success with journalistic criticism published in the most renowned national and international newspapers such as: W, Robert Parker, Red shrimp, Luca Maroni, AIS and many others.
This is why it is present throughout the national territory with the collaboration of 85 agencies and abroad where it is present in 52 nations both in Europe and in the rest of the world.
Production to date is approximately 2.500.000 bottles and the expectations certainly don't stop there. Read more
